Setting up email forwarding in Google Workspace allows users to automatically reroute incoming emails from their Google account to another email address. This feature is beneficial for managing multiple email accounts or ensuring important messages are received in a preferred inbox. Here’s how to configure email forwarding in a unique and easy-to-follow way:

For Administrators:

  1. Admin Console Access:
  2. User Selection:
    • Navigate to the “Users” section to find the account for which you want to set up forwarding.
  3. Configure Forwarding:
    • After selecting the user, click on “Account” and find the “Email forwarding” section.
    • Enable forwarding by entering the email address to which the messages should be sent.
    • Decide whether to retain a copy of the emails in the original account by selecting the appropriate option.
    • Save your changes to activate forwarding.

For Individual Users:

  1. Gmail Settings Navigation:
    • Log in to your Gmail account and click the settings gear icon, then select “See all settings.”
  2. Setup email forwarding:
    • Click on the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” tab.
    • Add a new forwarding address by entering the email you want your mails forwarded to and confirming.
    • A verification email will be sent to that address. Click the link provided to authorize forwarding.
    • Once verified, select the forwarding option and choose what Gmail should do with the emails post-forwarding (e.g., keep in the inbox, mark as read, archive, or delete).
    • Apply the changes.

Additional Tips:

  • The forwarding feature is activated for new incoming emails following the setup.
  • Administrators have the capability to set up rules that can affect the entire organization’s email handling.

This method ensures both individual users and administrators can efficiently manage email traffic according to their needs in Google Workspace. If you need further details or specific guidance, feel free to ask!
